On March 16, 2026, the 20th Annual Conference of the China Textile Roundtable was held in Beijing. This conference was hosted by the China Textile Industry Federation and supported by Beijing Fashion Holdings Co., Ltd. The theme of the conference was "Striving in the '15th Five-Year Plan', Initiating a New Journey for the Construction of Modern Textile Industry". The conference took a macro perspective, discussing the development situation faced by the textile industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan", deeply analyzing the impacts of hot factors such as international economic and trade environment, application of artificial intelligence, and boosting domestic demand and consumption, and contributing wisdom to making plans for the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, guiding the direction. 

This meeting invited Zheng Yan, the deputy director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, to attend. Xia Limin, the secretary-general of the China Textile Industry Federation, Gu Weida, the secretary and chairman of Beijing Fashion Holdings Co., Ltd., Xu Yingxin, Li Lingshen, Yang Zhaohua, Yan Yan, Zhu Chao, the deputy secretary and secretary of the discipline inspection committee of the China Textile Industry Federation, the former vice president Sun Huibin, as well as experts' consultation committee members Cao Xuejun and He Yanli, among others, from the sponsoring and supporting units, to be present and participate. Representatives from various departments of the China Textile Industry Federation, professional associations, member units, as well as textile enterprises, universities, research institutions and news media, totaling 160 people, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Yan Yan, the vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation. 

Yang Zhaohua, the vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, delivered a keynote speech titled "Stabilize the New Position in the '15th Five-Year Plan' and Forge Ahead on the Journey to Modernization". The speech pointed out that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, especially since the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the textile industry has accelerated the promotion of high-quality development in terms of technology, fashion, and environmental protection, strengthened its industrial system advantages, enhanced independent innovation capabilities, improved value creation levels, and optimized and improved the industrial ecosystem. This has laid a solid foundation for the complete establishment of a modern textile industry in China. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, external circumstances are still undergoing complex changes, and the textile industry is facing severe challenges. However, under the new circumstances, the industry's position as a pillar industry of the national economy will continue to be consolidated. The strong domestic market, the empowerment of new quality productive forces, regional and resource coordination, and other development foundations are sound, and strategic opportunities still exist. The textile industry will thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the previous plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee, anchor the goal of preliminarily establishing a modern textile industry system in the "15th Five-Year Plan", and fully exert efforts on key points such as technology, fashion, green, and healthy high-quality development, to lay a solid foundation for basically achieving socialist modernization in our country. 

In response to the task and goal of accelerating the construction of a modern textile industry system, Yang Zhaohua put forward five development suggestions: First, continuously promote the transformation towards high-end, intelligence and greenness, cultivate new high-end industrial chains, improve the collaborative mechanism of industrial clusters and key enterprises, build a green supply chain throughout the entire life cycle, and lay a solid foundation for the industrial system; Second, deepen resource coordination, promote the organic synergy of the industry's scientific research and development system, innovation platform system,成果轉(zhuǎn)化 system， standard system， and talent cultivation system， and enhance the efficiency of independent innovation； Third， widely promote cross-industry and cross-sector diversified innovation， and drive the extension of industrial value； Fourth， based on the strategic foundation of expanding domestic demand， comprehensively enhance the adaptability of supply and demand， deeply promote the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade， and promote the smooth circulation of supply and demand links through internal and external coordination； Fifth， based on the major national regional strategies and regional coordinated development strategies， optimize the industrial regional layout according to local conditions， and build an efficient and secure international supply chain. 

Sun Xuegong, the director of the Decision-making and Consultation Department of the China Macro Economy Research Institute, delivered a speech titled "Analysis and Outlook of China's Macroeconomic Situation in 2026". He believes that China's macroeconomy benefits from the fundamentals of moving towards new and better directions and maintaining stability in the long term. With favorable conditions such as a phased easing of the external environment and continuous efforts of macro policies, China is expected to maintain a stable development trend in 2026 and achieve a good start for the "15th Five-Year Plan".
